Profiteering of Education
Online profiteering of university education has been forcing change in the public university arena… Univ of Kentucky offers the first 100% online MA Arts Admin. “UK is the Commonwealth’s flagship, research institution with an enrollment of approximately 28,000 students.” Federal funds have been flowing (literally) to popular for profit educational institutions such as Phoenix, Strayer, etc., and it’s time for regional universities to draw the non-traditional student as well! (and since I have experience in haranguing online universities about their accreditation fallacies I have to say this not only competitively priced but is a good direction in creating access for working, and sometimes remotely located, single parents and/or non-traditional students from a local/regional point of view).
